We recently traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for our Thanksgiving vacation. We were grateful my parents could come with (one of the many perks for being young parents – the grandparents are young too and can travel with and help out!), and we celebrated baby Warren turning 2! A lot of our friends asked why we picked Charleston over, say Disneyland, or a more popular tourist destination like New York City, Chicago or Seattle. Here are some of my reasons:Continue reading “Tips for Traveling to Charleston with Family”
Self care is such a trendy topic right now. For every 5 mom posts I see, there is 1 about self care and how important it is to take time for ourselves in order to be better moms. While that’s true, a friend shared another perspective with me recently that changed how I view self care. In a nutshell –Continue reading “True Self Care”
May your tea be stronger than your children (swipe to see my middle making goggle eyes, her current signature move 🤦🏻♀️), and you get all your Christmas shopping done this weekend while everything is on sale! I got so many cute things at amazing prices for my family and friends last night, continuing today!Continue reading “May Your Tea be Strong”
Did you know herbal tea is NOT tea? Chamomile and Jasmine, also not tea! On this Milktea Monday, I got to visit America’s one and only tea plantation in Charleston, South Carolina, and learned all about how American Classic tea is made! 🌿Continue reading “America’s Only Tea Plantation”
Alice said it best – “It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.” Maybe we remember yesterday with fondness and nostalgia, or wish we were back at a simpler time before the difficult things started happening. But we are different today because of our experiences that have made us smarter, stronger and more unique.
May you and I embrace TODAY and cherish the Wonderland we get to be in, right now.
The best boba teas in this world are your friends who will dress up as boba teas with you for Halloween, who will laugh and cry with you through life, and be there for you in this crazy wild journey of motherhood ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks @cn1chole for the awesome idea!!! 😘
Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m a chocoholic 🙋🏻♀️ Today is National Chocolate Day! I started the day working hard in Barre which now allows me to eat all the chocolate I want before picking up my kids and pretending I’m really healthy and don’t eat that much chocolate! 🙈 My husband has always known this dirty little secret of mine, and my college roomie/maid-of-honor @prp729 who has seen…well, everything, and now you do too.
The best chocolate treats are Minnie Mouse shaped am I right? 😍 I found these beautiful chocolate cake pops in Downtown Disney in Anaheim, the cookies here in Houston @tudorhousecookies, and the chocolate covered Minnie Mouse donut from Disneyland Hong Kong! Cheers to a sweet and chocolatey week! ❤️ Don’t forget to get some exercises in to balance out the sweetness too 😘
Love waking up to 66 degrees, I smell FALL🍁
This song has been stuck in my head since my kids were singing it yesterday. In a world that is broken and sad things happen around us all the time (no I’m not talking about the Astros losing last night 🤦🏻♀️), I pray I can raise up children up to be lights in this world…
I may come off as bubbly and a ray of sunshine to many of you (and I am), but I definitely have a dark side, just like Maleficent, my all-time favorite villain – cue evil laughter👸🏻⚡️ #MeettheMinnies
If you watched the first movie back in 2014, you know Maleficent was not evil, just extremely hurt (many of us can understand and relate!) and sought revenge. But ultimately the love in her heart won over her, proving her love to be even truer than that of Prince Philip’s!! Ohhh the love between a mother and daughter! 💕 She has got to be the BEST Disney villain ever!
To my beautiful middle child – I heard birth order affects the growth of each child, but I brushed it aside, thinking I was more than capable of showering each child with an equal amount of attention and love, and raise them, by the grace of God, into amazing adults. After all, I got my Masters from Rice right? Joking! (It’s an inside joke between my husband and I when we do things that make us look uneducated, like him using a small bath toy to fill my diffuser last night that took him 8 trips from the bathroom sink 😑) I’m human, and as much as I try my best, I fail constantly.
I want you to know how much I see you, love you, and cherish the fact that I get to be YOUR mommy! You’re so beautiful inside and out. You have a big heart, a kind soul, and the sweet yet stubbornness that makes you uniquely you.
My super soft and dreamy dress is from @shoppinkblush! They also make the most comfy and stylish maternity wear!
Research shows that middle children may feel the most distance from parents than their siblings. I am determined to avoid this, and I will go on as many mother-daughter dates, play with you at home, and have as many photos with JUST you as I can, to show you that you’re not just sandwiched in the middle, but you’re blessed to live the full family life by being in the middle, and your mother (the person writing this) loves more than you’ll ever know 💕
