We saw a newborn baby at the hospital today. Talking to the new mama brought me back to the moment I had my very first baby 6 years ago, back to all the complex emotions (anxious, excited, unsure, over-the-moon, more anxious) only a mother can thoroughly understand. 6 years sounds like a long time, but it really didn’t feel like that long ago.

Today my 6-year-old celebrated her soon-to-be 1st grader status with friends from school. When the girls took a group picture and shouted “1st grade!” I almost lost it. Yes I’m that emotional mama, the one who makes scrapbooks, writes letters to her children, prays over them every night, tears up on 1st and last days of school, and now blogging about it all.
