Today the pastor asked about our hopes and dreams for our children, and just like most other parents, we want our kids to be happy, healthy and successful, married well and have beautiful children of their own in the future. While there is nothing wrong with these hopes and dreams, the pastor told us that we should really want for our kids to –

1. Love God
2. Love People
3. Desire a relationship with us parents after they leave our house ❤️
He also emphasized that “Children are supposed to go, and Marriage is supposed to stay!” (Never thought of it like that 😱), that the BEST gift we can give our children is a strong marriage, because what is more powerful than being an example to our kids and showing them “do what I say, because of what I do!”

We were all encouraged to go out on dates and refrain from talking about our children while at it. Like it or not, marriage should always come before children. I know it’s hard to do especially with little ones, but it’s so important to prioritize!

One of our favorite date to go on is getting boba teas (duh 😆) and just talk! Thanks to my in-laws we got to go after church today! What are some of your favorite date ideas?
