Le Petit Prince

We had a Disney themed wedding, where our first dance was choreographed to HSM 3’s Can I Have This Dance. My girls always had Disney birthday parties – Frozen, Minnie Mouse and Sophia the First. I didn’t keep my son’s bday celebration in line with Disney, but I’ll still write about it, because I’m not a professional blogger who has a very specific niche yet and I started this only a month ago, so…I’ll roll with wherever my creative outlet takes me, because this is my blog and I’m drunk with power muahahahaha. Ok yes that line was inspired by Lauren Graham.

Other than my beloved Disney stories, there are 2 children’s books I’ve always loved and found very deep and meaningful – The Little Prince, and Who Moved My Cheese. I can read them over and over again and always get something new out of them. ⠀⠀
I re-read the Little Prince around Warren’s birthday, and just now watched the movie (what better way to distract myself from the emotions of my oldest going to 1st grade and middle going to Pre-K tmr right?). Though the point of view changed from the aviator to the little girl next door, the essence of the book is well preserved. Long story short, here are some takeaways from the movie (blog site coming soon! So my captions will shorten significantly!)
⠀⠀
1. Look beneath the surface (“what is essential is invisible to the eye”)
⠀⠀
2. The vain man seeking adoration from applauses is kind of like our generation seeking affirmation from others online. I fall into that trap sometimes too, luckily my close friends and I remind each other regularly to snap out of it because it’s chasing after the wind.
⠀⠀
3. Relationships are everything. Too much to elaborate here, but surely you agree!
⠀⠀
4. Always keep the child in you as you age, meaning, stay curious, creative and be filled with imagination and not be so serious about life all the time!
⠀⠀
5. It’s normal to be scared. But stay courageous as you take your first steps in doing something you know matters.
⠀⠀
TTFN, hope you read something that could help you too, or maybe you didn’t read and just scrolled by my picture. Both are ok love! 🙂
